Every item for sale at the Love Local Makers Market in Springwood on 29 August was made in the Blue Mountains. Organisers say the guarantee of local provenance sets this community market apart from larger crafts fairs.
The free market runs from 8:30am to 1pm on Saturday 29 August 2026 on the forecourt of the Blue Mountains Theatre & Community Hub at 106 Macquarie Road. More than 30 artisans from across the region will sell ceramics, jewellery, candles, art, furniture and clothing, all produced within the Blue Mountains.
Blue Mountains Mayor Mark Greenhill described the event as a direct investment in the region’s creative economy. “When we shop local, we aren’t just buying a beautiful, one-of-a-kind piece,” Cr Greenhill said. “We are investing in the passion of local makers and directly fuelling the creative economy that makes our region so unique.”
The market returns after editions in 2025 and May 2026, coinciding with the Hub’s annual Hubbub celebration. That pairing adds live entertainment and community activations not present at the venue’s standalone market days.
Visitors can arrive by train from Sydney to Springwood Station on the Blue Mountains line, then walk to the Hub. The trip takes about an hour from Central, and the station offers commuter parking, wheelchair access and bike facilities. Organisers recommend public transport because of limited event-specific parking at the venue.
Springwood’s cafes and shops sit within walking distance, making it easy to add coffee or a meal to the morning. For a longer day, scenic drives and bushwalks in the surrounding national park are accessible from the township.
