Hawkesbury Library Service has opened a new Technology Hub at Central Library in Windsor to increase digital access for the local community.
The facility features a refurbished Computer Room, a new Digitisation Room, and a dedicated Production Studio. The upgrade follows building works that began in October 2025 and have since rolled out to the public in stages.
The project was supported by $200,000 from the NSW Government’s Public Library Infrastructure Grant program. This funding allows the library to provide high-end digital tools that many residents may not be able to afford at home.
Sarah McMahon from Hawkesbury City Council said the upgrade provides significant advantages for local residents.
“Our community will benefit in many ways from this substantial upgrade,” Ms McMahon said.
The hub offers a range of services for all ages, including podcast recording equipment and family photo scanning. These resources aim to bridge the digital divide for Western Sydney families and support local entrepreneurs starting creative businesses.

Soundproof production room – with a 4-person podcasting kit

Hawkesbury Central Library has served the region since it opened in June 2005. The 2,540 square metre facility at the Deerubbin Centre includes a Local Studies Collection and specialised areas for children and young adults.
This development is part of a wider investment in the region. The 2026/2027 budget has allocated $63.7 million to community and culture, covering libraries, galleries, and museums.
The technology hub is now located at the Deerubbin Centre, 300 George Street, Windsor.
