It’s a very straightforward route taking the via Hume Motorway/M31.

If you had more time available you could optionally take an incredibly scenic route via Grand Pacific Drive and from Shellharbour take the Illawarra Hwy through the Macquarie Pass.

The fastest train service is the Southern XPLORER TRAIN 631 which you can take from Central Station to Bowral with a journey time of 1 h 36 min and ticket cost from $18. For ticket booking and planning see here.
